Canvas Skies

As of late, music is having its way with me and I’m all for it. It’s been a long time since riffs, melodies, lyrics and overall musical inspiration has been so readily available – I’m truly loving it. Over the last several years, a form to my music writing had been slowly inculcating and incidentally boxing me in to a persistent style and structural philosophy which little by little had been curtailing my creativity and personal allowance of what I could write and release. In the course of just one week it seems the slate has been literally wiped clean and the tabla is completely rasa once more.

There is no need for a diatribe on how I let this pervasive self-imposed format become the zealous beast that it had. Much better is to carry on brandishing as much work as possible and ride the wave to its fullest. I’m currently working on a short score for a trailer which I will share once it is public. In the meantime, stay alert for more work to come for it seems that this is only just beginning and who knows what may be next. This is really fun, I feel like I just met music yesterday – everything is light and fresh again. The notes are new, intervals, chords, structure is all playful again. I’m not sure what’s going on and that feels like the place to be. So please, embark with me on this musical treasure hunt, I promise for it to be surprising and maybe you’ll like the songs too.

In the meantime, here’s an exception from the past few years that navigates through many genres and musical airways.
